Once-upon-a-time relationship between the two giant entertainers, D’banj and Don Jazzy has just been renewed as they both settled their long time rift. News reaching us indicates that the Oba Of Lagos, HRH Rilwan Akiolu, was so concerned about the business relationship between the two, called them up to his palace and settled their differences.
Don Jazzy in his word told the king that D’banj started it all but the Oba who said he wasn’t going to apportion any blame to any of them, asked the two to touch the royal staff and promised to be friends again.
As you are reading this, the two are already together again working on how to revive their Mo’hits entertainment outfit. Remember, their age-long rift was finally settled on, April 1st 2013 at the Oba Palace in Lagos.

Northern leaders to Jonathan: Stop using Boko Haram to blackmail us

Northern leaders, yesterday, frowned at what they described as a desperate attempt by President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration to blame the rising wave of insecurity in the north on the leaders.

The leaders vowed to resist any attempt by the Presidency to use the Boko Haram onslaught to blackmail them instead of taking proactive measures to nib the insurgence in the bud.

The grouse of the northern leaders was that whereas the President had earlier claimed that he could not offer amnesty to Boko Haram members as they were ghosts, he went ahead to call on Northern elders to enjoin Boko Haram to stop bombings in the country.

A member of the Northern Elders Forum, Dr. Junaid Mohammed and National President of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, who spoke separately to Vanguard described the action of the government as a deliberate attempt to blackmail and provoke the north.
It will be recalled that during a visit to Borno State last month, Jonathan had rejected calls for amnesty to Boko Haram members, saying that he could not be dealing with those he described as ‘’ghosts”.

Last week, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, issued a statement, calling on the Northern elders to prevail on the sect to down tools and accept dialogue as the Niger Delta militants did before the late Yar ‘Ádua offered them pardon.

Okupe said: “There is no need for over-politicization of the demand for amnesty, or to blackmail the President for taking strong, patriotic views that are contrary to those of some of our respected elders.
“The true expectation is that our respected leaders will go back to the drawing board and increase consultation and networking with the aim of reaching out to the leadership of the insurgents and convincing them to do the needful and step out to be counted.”

Amnesty for Boko Haram members
Mohammed, a second Republic politician and leader of the ACF vilified the President for refusing to grant amnesty to the sect members, saying that what was good for one part of the country was also good for the other.

Mohammed noted that the President had failed to use his position as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces to find an answer to rising insecurity that has led to the killing of innocent men, women and children in the north despite the avalanche of security apparatus and intelligence at his disposal.

The ACF leader, Yerima Shettima, on the other hand, told Vanguard that the north took serious exception to the attempt by the Presidency to associate its leaders with the Boko Haram sect.
Shettima noted, “We don’t control Boko Haram and have no way of knowing what they are doing and what they want. It is the President who once declared that there were Boko Haram members even in his government.

“Having made that public declaration before the world, it is baffling why the President has found it difficult to deal with such members in his government but has continued to make contradictory statements almost on a daily basis, trying to rope in northern elders”.

“We therefore, plead with the President to leave northern elders out of the Boko Haram issues and devise realistic ways of solving the problem of insurgency in the country, one of them being, the carrot and stick approach, so as to give peace a chance to reign in the land.

….Hold Northern leaders responsible for crisis, by Arewa youths

As security problems in the north escalate, youths in the region, yesterday, expressed disappointment with the political leaders from the area, whom they accused of not showing enough interest in tackling the challenges to pave way for peace and development.

The National President of the Arewa Youth Forum, AYF, Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, who made the feeling of the youths known while speaking with Vanguard, noted that most of the leaders of the region were more interested in pursuing their personal goals than working for the overall welfare of the people.

Gujungu said: “We are disappointed that since the upheavals in the region started and is slowly crippling the economy of the region, those that are said to be representing the region have not deemed it necessary to meet and find a lasting solution to the impasse.

“As youths from the north we are not only disappointed but we also feel let down by those that we toiled for to occupy the exalted positions they are now enjoying today. We are worried that instead of working for the good of the people, these leaders are busy pursuing personal agenda to the detriment of all.

“It is in view of this that we call on leaders of the north at different levels, governors, senators, ministers, lawmakers at the state and national levels, commissioners and even those at the local government level to join hands with the Vice President Namadi Sambo, who is the political leader of the north and tackle the problems in the region.

“We use this opportunity to call on these leaders to put their personal ambition behind them and work for the good of the north as the youths and other well-meaning individuals are watching what is happening and will take necessary action when the time is right”.

“AYF wants to call on persons like the Katsina State Governor Shehu Shema that Arewa Youths are disappointed that instead of staying in Katsina to attend to the needs of the people; the governor is now more prominent in Abuja and Niger Delta.

“AYF is calling on those in the league of the Katsina Governor to have a rethink as after all is said and done, power resides with the people and no matter what the supposed godfathers think, the Nigerian people will one day decide their own fate.

According to reports, a Kuwaiti royal prince has become a follower of Jesus Christ. In an audio file posted with his name, he affirms that if he is killed because of a recording he made where he talks about his conversion, he firmly believes that he will meet Jesus Christ face-to-face. The news comes from Middle Eastern sources which state that al-Haqiqa – a Christian satellite TV channel in Arabic that transmits Christian religious programmes – broadcast an audio file attributed to the Kuwaiti prince, identified as Abdullah al-Sabah. The al-Sabahs are the royal family of Kuwait, a country rich in oil. The name Abdullah (servant of God) frequently appears in the Emir’s family tree.

In his audio file, Abdullah declared: “First of all, I fully agree with the distribution of this audio file and I now declare that if they kill me because of it, then I will appear before Jesus Christ and be with him for all eternity.” In this statement, the prince demonstrates his awareness of the fate in store for a martyr of the faith, according to Christian doctrine. The television channel stated that Abdullah is a member of the royal family, and that he recently renounced his faith in Islam and became a Christian, without specifying which particular branch of Christianity he had chosen. After stating his full name, the prince declared: “I will accept whatever they do to me, because the truth in the Bible has guided me towards the right path.”

In the audio file, Abdullah talks about the Islamic groups that are winning the elections in Egypt and declares: “Islamic communities have always wanted to attack in different parts of the world but God has preserved the world and still protects it. This is why we have recently seen disagreements appearing among Islamic groups who are now fighting with each other. They are about to divide further into different groups.”

Please forgive us at least
for the sake of Christ that
rose from the dead because
of you and me," he said.
Narrating how he joined

He said, "I was engaged in
sand dredging. Some years

join him in pipeline

no because I was a
hardworking person, but
when it dawned on me that
this was the only source of
living, I joined Ebi.
"We were using kegs but
because of the level of the

Yes o! the Prof. is back, this is smoking hot grammar at his peak.

As we join Christians in the celebration of Easter, may we truly reflect on the quintessential modus vivendi of Master Jesus; The Christ, who peregrinated this incarnation as an exempli gratia of self abnegation, puritanical excrescence, spartan discipline, mental magnitude, hierophantic candour and altruistic effusions, qualities which have become a desiderata for national resurgimento.

Nigerians Should Not Expect Stable Electricity Until 2014 Says President Jonathan

president Goodluck Jonathan has again pushed forward the timeline for his administration’s pledge to deliver improved power supply, telling Nigerians Sunday they would continue to live with epileptic electricity supply at least until 2014.
Mr. Jonathan made the comment on Sunday after his Easter message at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, was interrupted by power outage.
Electricity went off midway into the president’s 10-minute speech, and he was thereafter handed a battery-powered microphone to continue.
In response to the development, Mr. Jonathan expressed the hope that the country would put the problem of epileptic power supply behind it by 2014. He was however not definite about it.
“They know that I’m here; that’s why they took light, at least to remind me that I must not sleep until we stabilise power. God willing, next year they will not take light,” Mr. Jonathan said into the battery-powered microphone as a former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, and other worshippers looked on.
The president’s declaration on Sunday suggests the country might know no end to the poor electricity supply situation that has crippled it for years.
Mr. Jonathan’s administration has made countless promises and set several deadlines to arrest the tide, and on each occasion, it has failed to deliver.
As recent as January 24, Mr. Jonathan said in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour electricity would be “relatively stable” before end of 2013.
“This is one thing that even if you have the money and the political will you cannot do it over night. So we are working very hard to make sure before the end of this year power supply is relatively stable,” the president said when Ms Amanpour asked him about the nauseating electricity supply power level in the country.
On August 28, 2012, Mr. Jonathan assured Nigerians they would feel the full impact of his government’s achievements by 2013.
Speaking at the 52nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja, the president described himself as “the most criticised president in the world,” saying by 2013, he would be the “most praised” in the world.
At the Easter event in Lagos, the president again assured that the country would overcome its current challenges and urged citizens to continue to pray for the country, even as he reminded worshippers of Mr. Gowon’s famous civil war quote, “Keeping Nigeria one is a task that must be done”.
The president said, ““We have our challenges as a nation in these days of terrorism. It’s quite sad. I can assure you that we are working very hard and we will continue to work very hard and God willing terror attacks will not divide this country.
“We have our challenges as a nation but we must go to where we want to go. As the president, by the grace of God and your good will, I promise, I will do my best. I will not disappoint Nigerians within limitations of our resources. We will fix our infrastructure.”
“I sincerely thank all of you and all the Christians in Nigeria for your prayers. It would have been worse if you have not been praying. This country has passed through a lot. I know all those last days of military transition to the regime that handed over power to Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo at the time the country was drifting, it didn’t know where it was going.
“We had political environments that we didn’t even know where we were transiting to. But with the persistent prayers by you, Christians, God stabilised the country. God will continue to stabilise this
country. God will continue to keep us together. I promise you as a mortal, I will do my best.”

I WILL NEVER BE FAITHFUL TO A WOMAN " NEVER EVER" FEMI KUTI SAYS..

“Femi Kuti tells Yes! International magazine:
“I will never get married again. I don’t think I will ever be able to trust anybody. I will never be able to give any woman that chance. First, I will never be faithful. Never ever! I will not even try to be faithful. I won’t! Because first of all, I don’t even believe a woman would be faithful to me. And why does she want to be faithful to me? First, I think it’s very unnatural and I can not even imagine standing somewhere and one man will say ‘I pronounce you man and wife. Who are you to pronounce me man and wife? Okay, I pronounce myself man and wife. There’s a girl who lives with me now. She’s not as jealous as most of my other girlfriends.. She knows I like women, so we understand each other. She doesn’t question me, I don’t question her. She takes cares of our child, no wahala. But the minute she starts being over-jealous, we are going to start to fight. She’s the kind of person that I will say, that girl is fine o, and she will say, should I chase her for you? And I will say don’t worry, I can do it myself.
It’s about freedom expression, freedom of the mind, freedom of being able to live and if that institution can not give me that, why should I go into an institution that is about restriction? It doesn’t mean that I’m somebody that wants to sleep around, I just don’t like ‘don’t, don’t, don’t! I don’t need an institution to tell me that.
I don’t want anybody to question me. Who are you to question my life? Have you heard any of my song questioning anybody? And every time I’ve tried to love, they have broken my heart. From day one – either because I’m Fela’s son. I hear the parents say ‘oh, you want to marry Fela’s son? God forbid. Even Funk that I married, when her mother found out I was Fela’s son, she scream no o! God forbid. Funke had to runaway to get pregnant o! And we ran away to get married. So, by the time she and her mother made up, of course, the marriage collapsed.
So you see, I try to be straight forward. Why should I lie? I’m popular and I now want to be sneaking from house to house or lie to my girlfriend? There’s no way they won’t catch me so it’s better you’re truthful. So I don’t start a relationship with ‘you are my one and only, bla bla bla. No! I like you very much but the possibility of liking someone else is there. I tell them. Even my wife Funke, I made this very clear to her. I don’t start my relationship based on you are the only one, I want to marry you, you’re the apple of my eyes. I start by being very truthful.

Adesuyi Replaces Shem as Lagos Commandant

Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has finally replaced Mr. Obafaiye Shem, the man who postulated the “my oga at the top” mantra, as commandant of Lagos State Command. He was replaced by Mr. Adesuyi Clement from Oyo State Command.
The Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Olu Abolurin, who was in Lagos weekend over the alleged killing of two of his officers by some policemen, introduced the new Commandant to journalists.
However, he did not give reasons for Obafaye’s removal but sources hinted that Adesuyi took over from the former Commandant Obafaye on Tuesday March 29. The source believed that it may not be unconnected with his recent interview on Channels Television live programme.
Before now, authorities of NSCDC has denied taken any disciplinary action against Mr. Shem over the said interview. Their reaction followed claims that Shem had been sacked on the orders of the Minister of Interior, who supervises the NSCDC.
Shem ordeal started when he appeared on Channels Television morning programme ‘Sunrise’ and when asked the NSCDC website he said:
“Hmmm, the website is, excuse me, my Oga at the top knows the website”. He again, cleared his throat and said: “My Oga at the top is working on the website and I don’t have them”.
When the presenters insisted that he give a functioning website address of the para-military outfit, he dropped the bombshell: “ww.nscdc, that’s all”.
Immediately, the interview went viral and has become so popular to the extent that t-shirts with “my oga at the top” insignia has been produced and selling like hot cake across the country, even as some DJ’s and musicians have done what they called remix of the interview.
